TOOLS   /   WORK & PROJECTS

The best work & projects tools
for organizations that want to use AI.

Asana is the GoodOps default: goals, projects and actions with owners and dates, a strong API, and it's where every module sends its to-dos. monday.com is the visual alternative teams in marketing and ops prefer. Microsoft Planner is included with 365 and fine for basic tracking inside Teams; thin for anything portfolio-shaped.

The pickAsana

The GoodOps default work tracker: goals, projects, actions with owners and dates. Non-profit discount available.

8.0

Why we picked it

Asana's AI features are useful rather than decorative, its API and automation surface is deep, and it has the non-profit discount. Most importantly it accepts actions from meetings and automations cleanly, which is what Voice Memory and Time Tracking need.

Flaws but not dealbreakers

Costs add up per seat, and the free tier is now quite limited. US-hosted.

Also great, and the budget pick

monday.com is a strong second with good AI and automation; it's board-first, which some teams love and others find noisy. Planner, if you're on Microsoft 365 and your needs are simple. ClickUp if you want everything in one app and can resist configuring all of it.

Also greatmonday.com

Visual, board-first, popular with ops and marketing teams.

Budget pickMicrosoft Planner

Included with Microsoft 365 for basic task tracking in Teams. Fine for Meeting Follow-Through; thin for portfolio work.

The competition

ClickUpEverything-app for small teams; configuration sprawl is the risk.7.1

What to skip

Jira for non-engineering teams.

How we score

Five things, weighted into one number: native AI (25%), whether your own AI can act on it through an API or connector (25%), whether your assistant can reach the data and you can export it (20%), governance such as admin control, no-training terms and audit logs (20%), and Canadian data residency (10%). Scores are GoodOps judgement, revisited as vendors ship. Some tools pay us a referral fee; we say so and it never changes the pick.
